AirlieBeach.com is all about giving holidaymakers the best experience possible in Airlie Beach and the wonderful Whitsundays, at the best value for money.
The team all live locally – some having grown up in the region and many having worked on the tours they now sell. They share their local knowledge in a welcoming space at the ‘top end’ of the Airlie Beach Main Street (next to Hog’s Breath Cafe).
Between them, the team speaks fluent English, French and Chinese, and they are the Whitsunday holiday specialists for all kinds of travel including budget backpackers, families, couples, groups, seniors and luxury holidays.
“We have grown up with the islands in our backyard, and we match each customer’s needs to the best that the Whitsundays has to offer,” said manager Jessica, herself a long-time local having moved to the Whitsundays at three years old. “The team loves nothing better than seeing the customers’ smiles, and hearing their stories, when they come back from their tours.”
Established in 1994 by Jess’s parents, Lolita and Tony Laurent, AirlieBeach.com was one of the original travel agents in the Airlie Beach Main Street.
Starting with sailing cruises – Tony was a former record-breaking sailor and the pair met while sailing Hobie cats! – their passion for, and dedication to, the Whitsundays saw them quickly grow the business to encompass all kinds of tours and accommodation.
Their ethos was simple – deliver honest and friendly service and run the business on the core values of sincerity, authenticity and consistency. Jess joined the business in 2009 and has worked tirelessly since then to continue that legacy.
Jess and her mother Lolita now run the business together, building on the reputation of the original Whitsundays Central Reservations Centre - AirlieBeach.com. Over the years, the business has been rewarded with many accolades including the Telstra Queensland Business Awards - Best Small Business of the Year Award and the Golden Backpacker Award.
It is also recommended by esteemed travel guides The Lonely Planet, Le Guide du Petit Futé and Le Guide du Routard. But far from resting on their laurels, the team is always innovating, including being the first to install a webcam on their shop front, beaming Airlie Beach to the world.

Finalists in two categories of this prestigious awards program, AirlieBeach.com (A&L Laurent Pty Ltd) accepts the award for the 2012 MYOB Small Business Category at the Queensland presentation held in Brisbane Tuesday 10th July.
Settling down in Airlie Beach following years of sailing and traveling around the world, Tony and Lolita launched their business in 1994 with the aim to share their sense of adventure with other travelers and visitors to the wonderful Whitsundays. They have since grown the business into the region’s most comprehensive local tourism operation.
“If you apply the basic principles of caring and sharing with others, honesty, trust, innovation and authenticity, we soon found that what we had learnt in sport could also be applied to business” from Tony’s acceptance speech.
AirlieBeach.com, the Whitsundays Central Reservations and Information Centre are known for their innovation and ‘keeping up with times’. Some boasts include publishing the first ever website for the Whitsundays region and more recently by releasing the first ever popular smart phone App ‘Airlie Beach Whitsundays Guide’.
