Sailing Monohull Bareboat Charter Boats

Imagine setting your own course around the stunning waters of the Whitsunday Islands – not a care in the world, the wind in your hair and the sun on your face.

You can achieve this by chartering your own ‘bareboat’, which means no crew. So, following a detailed and comprehensive briefing, it’s just you, your family and friends in control. But don’t worry – with more than 40 anchorages, there is always a tranquil spot to lose yourself and there’s plenty of room for everyone!

The professional bareboat team will help you plan an itinerary perfectly tailored to your needs, as you set your course amongst the islands. Enjoy the freedom of going at your own pace, as you discover untouched beaches and cascading waterfalls on the islands, most of which are National Parks.

You can choose a sailing yacht, a catamaran or a power cruiser, with the larger vessels accommodating up to 10 guests, and all offering comfortable accommodation. No licence is required for bareboating and if you want a little help, you can hire a sail guide for a day, to “show you the ropes” (literally!).

Sailors the world over argue about the pros and cons of monohulls (one hull) versus catamarans or multihulls. Here are just a few of the main points to help you decide what’s best for you!

A monohull is more streamlined and therefore easier to dock – and it takes up less space. They manoeuvre better because you’re not dealing with two hulls. They can make sharper turns and navigate more easily through narrow channels and tight spaces.

The higher efficiency of a monohull design presents less resistance in heavier weather and they work harmoniously with the elements.
